Donate an Instrument

Help an unused instrument reach a student or community program. Tell us about its condition and location. We coordinate pickup and provide an update when it is placed.

Donation Guidelines

  • Repairs. Instruments with sticking keys or worn pads may be repairable, and we work with a technician. We generally cannot accept instruments with extensive water damage, cracked soundboards, or damage that is uneconomical to repair. We will tell you before accepting an instrument.
  • Moving. Large instruments are transported by insured professional movers. We seek donated moving services or a sponsor and will let you know if transportation cannot be arranged.
  • Placement updates. We will let you know when your instrument has been placed.
  • Charitable status. The Noteworthy Project is not a registered charity, so donations are not tax-deductible, and we cannot provide tax receipts.
