Performances

Mini Maestros

Mini Maestros brings student musicians to senior care communities for live performances and conversation. Return visits help students and residents build lasting relationships.

Visits

Each visit lasts about an hour at the host community, including about 45 minutes of music. Two to four students perform, then stay to talk with residents.

Visits are scheduled based on the host's availability and the number of participating students.

What to Expect

A staff member greets the students and shows them where residents gather, such as a day room or lounge. After the performance, students stay to talk with residents who would like to meet them.

Student Participation

Students should have playing experience and prepare about 20 minutes of music they can perform confidently. No audition is required. Students are asked to take part in three visits per school term.

Supervision and Consent

A parent or guardian chaperones every visit. Participants under 18 need written consent from a parent or guardian before a visit is scheduled. Permission to appear in photographs is requested separately, and we do not publish photographs that identify residents.

Hosting a Performance

Host communities provide:

  • A room where residents gather
  • A staff member to greet the students
  • A piano, if available; otherwise, students bring a keyboard
  • About one hour, usually on a weekend afternoon

Visits are free. We handle transportation, scheduling, and student coordination.
